The Kentucky Wildcats are in excellent position to land some of the top guard/wing players in the 2020 recruiting class.
Among those are Jalen Green, BJ Boston, Josh Christopher, and Cam’Ron Fletcher.
As of right now, UK looks like the favorite for all four of these players. The only question is, which ones do the Cats actually land considering they all play similarly and they all play the same position?
Fletcher looks like he could be the first to pull the trigger on his UK offer. Christopher and Boston might be a race to who could be the next. And while Green, who’s the best of the bunch, has said he plans on waiting “mad late” to make a decision, I wouldn’t trade Kentucky’s position with anyone right now.
Now, it appears UK is high on another scoring guard: DJ Steward.
2020 PG DJ Steward tells me that Kentucky associate head coach Kenny Payne said getting Steward on the line with Coach Calipari "is the priority" this week.

Offer likely coming for the five-star scoring guard. #BBN
The four-star guard is one of the most efficient scorers in the class. The No. 27 ranked player in the 247 Sports Composite Rankings holds offers from the Duke Blue Devils, Louisville Cardinals, and North Carolina Tar Heels, among others.
The 6-3, 165-pound Chicago native seems like a lock to end up in Durham. If not, the Cards and Tar Heels look like they’re in a great position, as well.
I’m not sure what to make of this development. Maybe, the Cats aren’t in as good of a position with the other four as we previously thought. Maybe, Cal is trying to assemble the highest-scoring, guard-heavy roster of all time.
I don’t know. Steward is good, but I like the other guys better. I do like Steward’s ability to score more than Fletcher, but Fletcher seems like he loves the Cats and Steward seems like he loves the Blue Devils. I’ll take the former.
I’d take this news on Steward with a grain of salt. I don’t think it’ll amount to much as it appears he’ll end up with Duke, but it’s something to keep an eye on moving forward.
Regardless, Kentucky is set up to have a massive recruiting haul in 2020.
