Over the weekend, it was reported that former Kentucky quarterback Jared Lorenzen is battling health issues that led to him being admitted to an intensive care unit.
Now, we have some good news from KSR’s Matt Jones, who reports that Lorenzen is improving but not quite out of the woods yet. In a statement given to Jones, Lorenzen’s family said the following:
“Jared’s overnight was uneventful, and that is a good thing. He remains on Dialysis. He continues to maintain his ground. His cardiac and renal issues remain, however his treatment has been effective. Jared is still very sick, but developing some traction and remains a fighter. The entire family thanks you for your support and prayers.”
Lorenzen was brought to the hospital last Friday before eventually being admitted to the ICU. He is battling an infection in addition to kidney and heart issues.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Lorenzen and his family during this challenging time.
