The 2019-20 Kentucky Wildcats are already preparing upcoming season, and it appears that John Calipari likes what he sees so far from this squad.
A typical Cal team is mostly freshmen with a sophomore or two. However, this year Cal has more experience and players that have played a lot at the college level and know what to expect from the game.
Cal has three sophomores in Ashton Hagans, Immanuel Quickley and EJ Montgomery. One junior in Nick Richards, and one senior in Nate Sestina.
All of those guys either know what Cal expects from them and have the college experience or they have been at the college level for a long time and know the grind it takes.
This experience will do nothing but help bring the freshmen along and get them ready for the season at a much faster rate. We’ve already seen this with the breakfast club already going on, as the team is getting up very early in the morning to workout together.
Coach Cal, with Julius Randle in town, took a team photo from a practice and tweeted that picture out and had something to say about this team.
This is truly a positionless team with length. We’re only just beginning this journey and I’m liking what I’m seeing.

“We’re only just beginning this journey and I’m liking what I’m seeing”
I believe that this will be one of the hardest working teams that we have seen under Cal, and they will be a lot of fun to watch and grow during the season as the team continues to build towards March.
