Recruiting never stops for Kentucky Basketball.

Even before the 2019 class has gotten their first college action, it’s never too early to look at potential targets for John Calipari and company for 2020.

In an article for the Lexington Herald-Leader, Ben Roberts highlighted a group of 10 recruits who could be close to an offer from the Wildcats.

Along with some big time names like Makur Maker and Joshua Christopher, there are plenty of names who may not be as well known right now. Some of those names are ready to take the next jump, including Lance Ware.

Ware, a 6-9 power forward from New Jersey, is the No. 47 recruit in 247 Sports’ 2020 ranking. Roberts describes Lance as an intriguing frontcourt option who has “been on UK’s radar for a while.”

Rival’s Eric Bossi recently included Ware in his “Summertime Risers List”.

“Ware isn’t an off-the-radar guy. He's been well known for some time, but I received more phone calls asking for information about Ware than any other player over the course of the past few weeks,” said Bossi.

Ware has multiple offers already, but with Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, Louisville and Michigan looking to get more involved, his recruitment will only get more interesting from here.

Every class isn’t only about the top-10 recruits. There are plenty of players that can make a difference at the college level throughout any ranking. It’s all about how coaches go about filling out the rest of the class with recruits who fit their system and culture.

Kentucky has a lot of focus on the top of the class and will likely earn commitments from more than one of them, but players like Lance Ware are important pieces and would be a welcome addition in Lexington.
