Not every recruit likes to broadcast every scholarship offer they receive.
That’s apparently the case with Cade Cunningham, as the five-star guard has never announced if schools like the Kentucky Wildcats, Duke Blue Devils and North Carolina Tar Heels had offered him a scholarship.
But after Cunningham recently announced his list of 10 schools, he later confirmed in an Instagram post that all 10 of his schools had offered. That was the first real confirmation that John Calipari made the offer to one of the best recruits in the 2020 class.
Cunningham is a consensus top-10 player in the 2020 class, ranked as the No. 3 small forward and the No. 2 player from Florida, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
Cunningham has a very balanced attack for a forward. He can certainly score when his team needs him to, but he is just as comfortable as a distributor and facilitator. He is also a top-notch defender and takes pride in getting rebounds.
There are currently six predictions in his 247 Sports crystal ball, five of which predict he will end up playing for the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Cunningham seems like the kind of guy you can build a team around. He is hard-working, has a team-first mentality, and he has a versatile skill set on the court. If Kentucky is able to land him, you would think he would become an effective recruiter from a student standpoint.
There is no timeline for Cunningham’s decision. The Wildcats currently have no commitments from players in the 2020 class.
Could Cunningham be the first?
