The NBA Draft process is still in full swing for prospects looking to impress teams through private workouts.
However, PJ Washington has been unable to do any thus far. According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, Washington is recovering from an injury that’s prevented him from going through pre-draft workouts with teams.
Thankfully, it sounds like Washington is getting healthy and will have his first workout on Sunday, which will be with the Miami Heat, per Givony.
Update to the P.J. Washington mention here: Washington is healthy and will have his first pre-draft workout on Sunday in Miami, the first of five workouts he has confirmed prior to draft day on the 20th. https://t.co/A6K7Si5Ngg

While it’s unclear what the injury is, it’s probably the foot issue that Washington battled through at the end of his sophomore season. It ended up costing him just two games in the NCAA Tournament, and he was still in pain when he returned for the Sweet 16.
Miami has actually become a popular mock draft projection for Washington. Last week, reports surfaced that Miami is interested in bringing in all three Kentucky prospects — Washing, Tyler Herro and Keldon Johnson — in for private workouts.
Of the three, Washington seems to have the best shot at being the 13th overall pick in this year’s draft to Miami, and this weekend’s workout could go a long way in determining if that actually happens later this month when the draft tips off.
