Derek Willis will get another shot at the NBA.
According to Sportnado reporter Nicola Lupo, Willis will play with the Phoenix Suns in the 2019 NBA Summer League.
A 6-9, 228-pound forward native of Mount Washington, Willis played four seasons at Kentucky, including all 38 games (15 starts) as a senior en route to an Elite Eight finish. He averaged 7.0 points and 5.4 rebounds that season.
In 103 career college games, Willis connected on 39.9 percent of his 3-point field goal attempts and hit 80.2 percent of his free throws.
Following the end of his college career, Willis signed with the Detroit Pistons in the 2017 Summer League after going undrafted. He would go on to play in the G-League, then played with the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2018 summer league before ultimately signing a pro contract in Germany last season.
