NBA Draft Open Thread

Storylines abound and a trio of Wildcats look to have their names called Thursday night in the Big Apple. How will it all play out?

Tonight in New York City, the Big Apple plays host to the annual NBA Draft.

While this season college basketball was dominated by one name, Zion Williamson, the 2019 draft offers many story lines that could create chaos and mass confusion about which player is going where, what team will move up to get the guy they covet, and everything in between.

Once again, the draft is going to have a Big Blue flair as a trio of Wildcats have designs on being drafted anywhere from the lottery (first 14 picks) to the end of the first round (guaranteed contract and money.)

Consider the following:

Will Tyler Herro, a lightly regarded four-star guard from Wisconsin who turned BBN on its collective ear with his marksmanship and swagger (I’m a bucket ring a bell), find his way into the NBA lottery in a calendar year?

Will PJ Washington, who went against the one and done grain and returned for his sophomore year to become not only the Cats best player but an All-American, see the fruits of his labor and become a lottery pick?

Will Keldon Johnson, the freshman firebrand who was UK’s alpha dog at times in the season and perhaps its best player from beginning to end, become yet another Wildcat to hear his name called early in the draft and see his hoop dreams continue to come true?

Considering the success of UK players in the league and the stagger one BILLION dollars they have made professionally during coach John Calipari’s time in Lexington, odds are it will be another highly successful night for Kentucky Basketball.

The action begins on ESPN at 7:30 pm EST and can be streamed online using Watch ESPN.

Let the draft begin!
