Happy Monday, Big Blue Nation.

The NBA Western and Eastern Conference Finals are now set. The Toronto Raptors will take on the Milwaukee Bucks for the East and the Golden State Warriors will take on the Portland Trail Blazers.

Both Game 7 games went down to the wire yesterday as the Raptors defeated the Sixers with an improbable game winner from Kawhi Leonard. The Blazers topped the Nuggets after coming back from a 17 point deficit.

If you aren’t watching the NBA Playoffs then you’re missing out on some fantastic basketball and some fascinating storylines. It’s fun to see teams like Portland, Toronto, and Milwaukee in play for the title. But do any of them have what it takes to take out the old guard?

For the most part I’ve been a Lebron James defender. But Jackie Mac is 100% correct in these statements.

Quickies

Kentucky softball to host fourth straight Regional | Cats Pause- The Cats earned the 14th seed in the NCAA Softball Tournament. They kick the tournament off Friday at noon against Virginia Tech.

CJ McCollum is a star | CBS- While it stunk to watch Jamal Murray lose, Enes Kanter gets the W as CJ McCollum goes off. Kanter has battled injury, the Turkish government, and dysfunctional locker rooms. Glad he’s in the Conference Finals.

Joel Embiid emotional after loss | ESPN- While Joel Embiid isn’t my favorite player, that dude played his butt off yesterday and didn’t get a lot of help from his teammates. Respect.

Has Dabo Swinney overtaken Nick Saban? | Saturdays Down South- I’m not ready to crown him the King of College Football just yet but he is on a Saban-like ride right now.

MLB Power Rankings | USA Today- It’s about that time of year where I really start to focus on baseball. Or at least try to. The Astros have the top spot right now and the Reds actually moved up 5 spots to 20th!

College football preseason rankings and bowl projections | Sporting News- The Cats are left off another preseason top 25 list. I think the players are making an Arya-like list of doubters.

Mavs investigating Porzingis’ altercation | Sports Illustrated- A video shows a bloody Kristaps Porzingis leaving a European nightclub at which he was apparently jumped by a group of Russians. The offseason for Porzingis isn’t going well.

GOT- For Whom the Bell Tolls | Rolling Stone- It was a gut-punch of an episode as we finally saw what a dragon is capable of when it’s unleashed. Major bounceback for the final season.
