The Kentucky Wildcats just scored a major football commitment.
On Monday, four-star defensive lineman Lamar Goods committed to Kentucky. Kevin Garbuio first broke the news, and Big Blue Banter has confirmed it.
This is a massive pickup for Mark Stoops and his staff. Hailing from St. Thomas More High School in Oakdale (CT), Goods is ranked 201st nationally by Rivals in addition to being the 13th-best defensive tackle and second-best player from Connecticut. Rivals and 247 both give him a four-star grade.
Among the schools who’ve offered Goods include the Georgia Bulldogs, Florida Gators, Tennessee Volunteers, Michigan State Spartans and West Virginia Mountaineers among others.
With Kentucky’s ascension in recent years on the strength of their defense, especially this past season, expect more elite defensive recruits to find their way to Lexington in the coming years. It appears Goods could be among them, though nothing is obviously final until the letter of intent is signed.
