NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Midwest Regional-Auburn vs Kentucky Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

When PJ Washington returned to the Kentucky Wildcats, I don’t think many of us knew just how good he would be. We saw glimpses of it in his freshman season, but the complete domination that he showed down the stretch was something new altogether.

He was rewarded with a trip to the Elite Eight and the recognition of being a consensus All American. He’s the first Cat to be a consensus All American sense Malik Monk did it two years ago.

It’s not first team, but being recognized by the four major outlets as being third team is still quite the achievement. He is joined by Kyle Guy, DeAndre Hunter, Dedric Lawson, and Brandon Clarke.

Congrats, PJ. Now we wait for his official NBA Draft announcement which whill surely be that he will turn pro.

Accurate.

There are some UofL fans that fail to understand the phrase “Stay in your lane”.

Cal’s underachieving, though. (Eye roll)

Quickies

UK baseball falls to Bum Cards | WDRB- It’s a rare thing these days when one can say that UK lost to UofL in a sport but the Cardinal faithful are acting like this baseball win is as good as a Final Four victory. Suffice it to say Nick Mingione’s team is falling below expectations.

Kentucky’s lifetime contract for Cal might not be a good idea | Yahoo! Sports- Of course this is the column that Pat Forde decided to pen. There is solace in the fact that not many people have been wrong about Cal and Kentucky in the past that Pat.

UK and Duke may need new approach to rosters | USA Today- I think Calipari may agree here. On his radio show Monday night he sounded like a coach that would REALLY like some of his guys to return. More so than most years.

Buzz Williams headed to Texas A&M | CBS- This is a great hire for the Aggies and, in my opinion, Billy Kennedy wouldn’t have been let go unless they knew they were going to get Williams.

Zack Thompson wins two major awards | UK Athletics- The UK Ace was named national pitcher of the week by two news outlets thanks to his complete game shutout against the Georgia Bulldogs.

Lonzo Ball files lawsuit against BBB co-founder | ESPN- The only surprising thing here is that this didn’t happen sooner.

Bryce Harper homers in return to DC | Sporting News- Harper was greeted with a chorus of boos as he made his return to the team that drafted him. But he got the last laugh as he homered in the victory for his new team.

Bobby Petrino left a disaster at UofL | Sports Illustrated- Only one person on the staff had Petrino’s cell phone number and the players didn’t even know where his office was. Big claps for Tom Jurich for rehiring the scumbag.

AAF suspends all operations | Washington Post- This is what happens when Johnny Manziel joins your league,
