Good news for Johnny Juzang as he is in Lexington for an official visit.
The former 2020 combo guard reclassified to 2019 and his new ratings came out today.
In 2020, he was a five star player ranked No. 21 in the class. In the 2019 class, Juzang is still a five-star player but he drops to #28 in the class, according to 247 Sports.
At 6-6, 200 pounds, Juzang is a big guard and we know how much John Calipari likes big guards. With his size he can sub in for either shooting guard or small forward. His shooting prowess will automatically make him an essential part of whichever team he ultimately chooses.
What does it mean for UK’s 2019 recruiting class if he does commit to Kentucky?
According to the Class Calculator, the addition of Juzang would elevate Kentucky to No. 2 in the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings for 2019. John Calipari has signed a top-2 class in each of his first 10 recruiting cycles with the Wildcats.

Right now the Cats are three in the rankings behind Duke (1) and Arizona (2). If Cal can land Juzang and one more big man, it could propel the Cats to the No. 1 recruiting class and, depending on the big man, could put them in the conversation for the top-ranked team in the country with all that will be returning.
Ironically, Juzang is sandwiched in between three of Duke’s recruits in Boogie Ellis (28), Cassius Stanley (29) and Wendell Moore (30).
We’ll add in Juzang’s updated rankings at ESPN and Rivals when they come out, but expect him to be in the same range as 247 Sports.
