Monday Quickies: Johnny Juzang Visit Edition

Is Johnny Juzang on the verge of commiting?

Johnny Juzang

Happy Monday, BBN.

Today is a big one in regards to Kentucky Wildcats basketball as five star combo guard Johnny Juzang will be in Lexington on an official visit.

Juzang announced last week that he will reclassify to the 2019 class and yesterday he announced his final four choices for schools: Kansas, Kentucky, Virginia, and Oregon.

At this point if he doesn’t go to UK, we would all be shocked. The decision for him to reclassify didn’t come until John Calipari offered him a scholarship. Juzang is a player of need as Jemarl Baker, one of Kentucky’s best shooters, decided to transfer.

Juzang would come into Kentucky with a role as a player that could be utilized at multiple positions, wing player or guard, and he can shoot lights out. If Kentucky lands him, he could be an upgrade from Baker.

Unless his visit is a complete disaster expect a commitment from Juzang to come in the next couple of weeks.

Tweets of the Day

Getting Juzang would put Kentucky in contention for the top recruiting class. And Calipari isn’t finished yet.

A huge pickup for Mark Stoops and Vince Marrow. UK will need linemen after this season and they got one of the best in the state.

You know what’s more annoying that reading about Game of Thrones on social media? Reading the social media posts of people who don’t watch and want everyone to know.

Quickies

John Young commits to UK | Cats Pause- This breaks down the Louisville native’s announcement and what it means for Kentucky.

Examining the Oaks and Derby fields | WDRB- It’s that time of year, folks. The biggest week in the Bluegrass State. Get your bets ready!

UK softball picks up a huge series | Uk Athletics- The #23 Cats beat the #3 Crimson Tide 3-2 on the road to win a major series in the SEC. Looks like Rachel Lawson has these Cats peaking at the right time.

Johnny Juzang drops final four | Sports Illustrated- Juzang is ranked as the 21st player in the 2020 class and it’s not clear where he will be ranked for 2019. One of the major developments is that he dropped Villanova from his final rankings. Those Wildcats and Virginia were the leaders until UK came calling.

Rockets complain about refs after loss | CBS- With Philadelphia (sorry Brad) the Rockets and the Warriors are two of the NBA’s most unlikeable teams. Chris Paul was ejected for arguing with officials and James Harden, the floppiest of floppers in the NBA, was complaining as well. I don’t care which team wins this series as long as they lose the next one. Yuck.

Tyreke Hill may be put on exempt list | ESPN- The NFL may exclude the embattled receiver from any and all football activities in the wake of child abuse allegations. There are also off the field legal matters that Hill may have to face.

The Battle of Winterfell | Rolling Stone- The most talked about episode of a television show in the history of television dropped last night and left fans, for the most part, satisfied. There are some quibbles I do have about it, but overall I enjoyed the outcome. If you want to discuss it, I’ll meet you in the comments section.

Director John Singleton dead at 51 | Fox- Another Hollywood star suffers a stroke and is gone too soon. Singleton rose to fame with his film “Boyz N the Hood”. Boyz defined a movement and a feeling in the early nineties.
