Kentucky makes Johnny Juzang’s final list

The Cats appear to be the favorite to land the five-star swingman.

Only a few days after announcing his reclassification from 2020 to 2019 five-star swingman Johnny Juzang announced his final schools on social media tonight.

Kentucky, to no one’s surprise, made the final cut along with Kansas, Oregon, and Virginia.

John Calipari and Joel Justus recently visited the five-star at his home in California, and tomorrow will have him in Lexington for a visit.

Adding Juzang to the 2019 roster would be huge for a Kentucky team that currently has a lot of holes to fill. Keldon Johnson, PJ Washington, and Tyler Herro are all NBA bound, Reid Travis graduated, and both EJ Montgomery and Nick Richards are testing the NBA waters.

Thus, the Cats need bodies and getting Juzang doesn’t just add one but provides Kentucky with a much-needed shooter.

Juzang shot 43% from the field in each of his past two high school seasons, and in the 2018-19 season he averaged 22.8 points per game.

At 6-6, Juzang can play on both wings and even move down low, similarly to Keldon Johnson, if need be.

Juzang is expected to make his final decision in the next few weeks.
