Giants draft George Asafo-Adjei

Another Wildcat sees his NFL dreams realized.

It took awhile, but a fifth Kentucky Wildcats player has been taken in the 2019 NFL Draft.

With the 232nd selection in Round 7, the New York Giants selected offensive lineman George Asafo-Adjei. Big George becomes the fifth Wildcat select this year, joining Josh Allen (Jaguars in Round 1), Lonnie Johnson (Texans in Round 2), Mike Edwards (Buccaneers in Round 3) and Benny Snell (Steelers in Round 4).

Asafo-Adjei has been a fixture on the right side of Kentucky’s offensive line, as he became one of the SEC’s better right tackles by his senior season. He started at right tackle in 12 games (did not play in the Louisville game due to injury) and was a two-time SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week.

For his career, Asafo-Adjei played in 48 games with 23 starts. He’ll join a Giants team that’s in desperate need of offensive linemen, so he could see snaps as a rookie if he makes the 53-man roster.
