Good morning friends.
While the offseason is in full swing in college basketball, there’s never a dull moment in Lexington.
While we wait on NBA Draft decisions from Nick Richards and EJ Montgomery, there’s also a host of outside additions John Calipari could make between now and the start of next season.
One of them is a highly-touted 2020 recruit that is not only considering Kentucky, but may also move into the 2019 class, and he’ll visit Lexington starting Monday.
Recruiting guru Jerry Meyer spoke with the Lexington Herald-Leader about Juzang, who Meyer is currently predicting Kentucky for his college destination.
“I just think he likes Kentucky. I think he’s been wanting this offer,” said Meyer. “And I think Kentucky has a really good chance to land him. … But I’m not expecting something to happen imminently.”
Meyer added “He (Juzang) can really shoot. He shoots well off the catch from three and has a nice pull-up jumper. And he rebounds — averages almost double-digit rebounds. He has size and he’s physical — a smart player.”
Juzang would not only be the perfect replacement for Jemarl Baker, but he’s also someone who could compete for a starting spot and make a major impact on a team that hopes to contend for a national championship.
But this recruitment doesn’t appear to be ending soon, especially with schools like the Virginia Cavaliers and Villanova Wildcats in pursuit.
Oh, and Juzang is making some type of announcement today...
