Where UK recruits stand in final ESPN rankings for 2019 class

Kentucky finished with a pair of top-15 recruits.

With the spring signing period now here, we’re starting to see the final 2019 recruiting rankings released by major outlets.

ESPN is the first to release their final Class of 2019 rankings, and they have two Kentucky Wildcats in the top 15. Five-star point guard Tyrese Maxey is the 12th-ranked recruit, while Kahlil Whitney is ranked 11th. Both of those guys have gotten top-10 love in other recruiting services, but ESPN didn’t think they deserved to make it that high.

The only other Kentucky pledge on here is Keion Brooks, who is actually a four-star prospect ranked 33rd. For a guy that certainly looks like a five-star player and is even ranked as high as 13th overall by 247 Sports, it feels like ESPN is really underselling what Brooks can do.

Kentucky target Jaden McDaniels came in at 6th overall. He’s still considering Kentucky, though Washington is thought to be in better shape at this time.

Matthew Hurt, who just committed to Duke, checked in at No. 10. James Wiseman retained the No. 1 spot, followed by Cole Anthony, Isaiah Stewart, Anthony Edwards and Vernon Carey Jr.
