The Kentucky Wildcats have had a busy week when it comes to the west coast.
It began with the departure of California native Jemarl Baker Jr., who is leaving Lexington and likely transferring to a school closer to home.
Then came news that Kentucky was visiting California prospect Johnny Juzang, a five-star 2020 recruit likely to reclassify to 2019. More fuel was added to that fire when John Calipari and Joel Justus visited Juzang to offer him a scholarship.
But Juzang wasn’t the only recruit Calipari met with on the west coast this week. According to Jake Weingarten of Stock Risers, Calipari paid a visit to top-five recruit Jalen Green.
Green is currently listed as the No. 2 recruit in 2020, according to 247 Sports composite rankings The 6-5 guard picked up an offer from John Calipari back in October, and he would be a huge pickup to begin the 2020 class in Lexington. Green also holds offers from the Kansas Jayhawks, Oregon Ducks, Villanova Wildcats and Florida State Seminoles among others.
However, the Memphis Tigers are viewed as the current favorites, as they have predictions both at Rivals and 247 Sports.
There had been speculation that Green could move into 2019, but he has since announced he’s staying in 2020 and will play at Prolific Prep ain Napa (CA) or his senior season. He previously played San Joaquin Memorial in Fresno.
