Back in February while meeting with the media to discuss the 2019 recruiting class, Mark Stoops said the offensive line would one of the two most significant needs for 2020.

“Obviously, some offensive linemen and some wideouts,” Stoops said back on February 6th. “Obviously, we’ll need them.”

The first step towards adding a big offensive lineman could come soon, as four-star offensive tackle John Young announced on Twitter he will make his college decision on April 29th, and the Kentucky Wildcats are in great shape.

Young is from Louisville a city recruiting head man Vince Marrow has hit hard the past few seasons.

According to 247’s Crystal Ball prediction, no one has much of a chance outside of Kentucky, as the Wildcats have a 100% chance to land the states fourth-best prospect.

The schools in his top six include the Wildcats, Georgia Bulldogs, Ohio State Buckeyes, Louisville Cardinals, Michigan Wolverines and Purdue Boilermakers.

If the Cats can lock down Young, they will obtain the 24th-ranked tackle in the nation, according to Rivals, who also has him rated as a four-star recruit.

Grabbing Young would be an excellent start to the 2020 class that the Cats have to be very picky with, as they only have 15 or 16 scholarships to offer as of now.
