Happy (?) Monday, Big Blue Nation.

One of the biggest stories in college basketball is the ongoing FBI pay for play scandal. And one of the programs that has been highlighted the most has been the LSU Tigers. Will Wade was suspended right before the NCAA Tournament because of his alleged involvement in facilitating money to players.

But LSU has backed tracked and reinstated Wade as the head coach which begs the question: what in the hell was that all about?

The suspension is now rendered nonsensical as Wade doesn’t look to have any other punishments forthcoming from the University. His suspension possibly cost the Tigers an Elite Eight or even a Final Four appearance.

And now that Wade has been retained, will he be able to convince some of his players to forego the NBA draft and stay? Will he be able to salvage a recruiting class.

There’s an old saying: “Either s**t or get off the pot”. LSU certainly botched this entire situation.

Here’s LSU’s statement:

Tweets of the Day

If you didn’t enjoy what happened yesterday at The Masters then I feel sorry for you.

Calipari wasted no time moving on from Matthew Hurt. More on that below.

UK baseball REALLY needed that series.

Quickies

Matthew Hurt shuts down recruitment | Ball Durham- John Calipari and Bill Self were scheduled to have in home visits with Hurt to give him one last pitch but were told to stay away by Hurt’s father. That makes the end of his recruitment anticlimactic as he will assuredly pick Duke. Jaden McDaniels is the last five star big in that class that Calipari really wants. Will he get him?

Cal visits Makur Maker | Cats Pause- Maker is the cousin to Pistons player Thon Maker. The elder Maker went straight to the NBA because of eligibility concerns. The younger Maker seems like everything is up to snuff.

He’s Back | ESPN- Tiger Woods won his fifth Masters yesterday and put to rest any doubts that he is one of, if not the, greatest golfers of all time. He battled back from both personal and physical problems to reclaim the top spot in his sport.

Bucks send message in Game 1 | CBS- The Milwaukee Bucks looked like the most dominant team in the NBA Playoffs as they demoralized the Detroit Pistons yesterday afternoon. Former Cat Eric Bledsoe had 15 points and 5 assists in the 121-86 demolition.

UK baseball Week 9 Review | UK Athletics- Honestly it may have been the best week of the year for baseball as they took a double header at No. 10 Ole Miss.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Premier Recap | Rolling Stone- There was one big reveal (at least to Jon Snow) in the episode. Most of the time was spent getting everyone re-acquainted and setting up for the final five episodes. But the end of the episode left us with a cliffhanger as Jaime Lannister is faced with a major demon from his past.
