Isaiah Todd updates his recruitment

Todd is one of Kentucky’s top targets in 2020.

USA Basketball

Isaiah Todd is the No. 13 overall player in the 2020 class, according to 247 Sports.com, and as of right now, the Kentucky Wildcats are believed to be the favorite.

Krysten Peek of Rivals.com caught up with Todd to discuss where he is in his recruitment process.

Todd was asked what big-name schools he has been hearing the most from.

“I hear from Kentucky, UNC, and Kansas. Everyone has been reaching out the same since the season ended. I talk to coach Joel (Justus) from Kentucky a lot.”

He was then asked what he is looking for when he takes visits to the schools still on his list.

“I’m looking at the character of the coach and does he have my best interest. And what role I'll be playing when I come to the team, am I going be the leader am I going to be the person that they look for the team to huddle around. Is the school academically sound, do people go to the NBA from there, things of that nature.”

Earlier in his recruitment, it was believed that Todd could take the reclassifying path and make the move to 2019. However, he stated that they were just rumors.

“No that was just a rumor. We were thinking about it though, but I don’t think that is on the table anymore”

With the way that the roster is shaping up for 2019 for coach Cal and his staff, it has to be good news that he is most likely going to stay in the 2020 class. Hopefully, we see him in Lexington for his college career, whenever that begins.
