Humphries played at Kentucky for two seasons before declaring for the NBA draft in 2017. With the Cats, he averaged just 2.8 points per game but in the 2017 NCAA tournament broke out with a 12 point game in the Elite Eight against the eventual national champion North Carolina Tar Heels.
After leaving Lexington, Humphries returned to his homeland of Australia where he played for the Sydney Kings of the NBL. There he averaged 6.9 points per game and shot an impressive .583% from the field.
The successful year overseas landed him a spot on the Hawks G-League team the Erie BayHawks. There, he averaged 11.3 points per game with 6.9 rebounds.
The success in the G-League paid off, as Humphries will get his chance in the NBA beginning tomorrow when Atlanta takes on the Spurs in San Antonio.
