This is some very tough news to hear for former Kentucky Wildcats tight end C.J. Conrad.
According to KSR, Conrad will not be able to showcase his skills during Kentucky Football’s Pro Day.
Initially, he couldn’t participate in the NFL Combine due to a physical that revealed some sort of issue with his heart. As if missing the combine wasn’t already huge, missing his Pro Day will do some serious damage to his draft potential.
As it sits, this will probably be the best Pro Day the Cats have ever had with a plethora of NFL talent to show off. And it’s another reason why this is so unfortunate for Conrad, as a lot of NFL scouts will be in attendance.
Conrad is currently in Lexington and has had some further tests done to see what exactly the issue is. Conrad said that he will get the results back from those tests in a couple weeks, and until then, no football for him.
Again, this stinks to see for a player that gave his all for this school. To have the opportunity at the NFL seemingly taken away is a tough break, but his health has to come first.
Here’s to hoping there’s nothing serious wrong and he’ll be back on the field in no time.
