It wasn’t easy, but the Kentucky Wildcats went into Oxford and came away with a win over the Ole Miss Rebels.
Kentucky, now 25-5 overall and 14-3 in SEC play, bounced back from its loss at No. 5 Tennessee on Saturday by picking up a Quadrant I win over the Rebels. The Wildcats shot 55.4% from the floor and scored 34 points in the paint. This, after they made just 14 field goals and shot 32% in the loss to Tennessee.
Keldon Johnson led the Wildcats with 22 points, while Tyler Herro scored 20 on 8/12 shooting.
PJ Washington, who didn’t score in the first half due to foul trouble, had 13 points in the second half to go with four assists and two blocks. At one point, Washington scored or assisted on 17-straight points for the Cats.
EJ Montgomery, who started in place once more in place of the injured Reid Travis, had four blocked shots and six rebounds. The freshman is slowly starting to find himself as postseason play is about to begin.
