It wasn’t easy, but the No. 6 Kentucky Wildcats defeated the Ole Miss Rebels by a final score of 80-76 in their final true road game on the 2018-19 season.

The Wildcats trailed 39-38 heading into halftime in large part due to PJ Washington being forced to sit due to foul trouble for the third-straight game.

However, with Washington back on the floor, Kentucky was able to fight off the Rebels to avoid a second-straight loss.

For Keldon Johnson and Tyler Herro, it was a night that saw them get back on track.

The freshman duo shot 4-20 from the field in Kentucky’s loss to Tennessee on Saturday.

Tuesday night, the duo shot a combined 17-30 from the field ,as Johnson finished with 22, and Herro finished with 20.

Washington was also a major factor as after being held scoreless in the first half due to foul trouble that only allowed him to play seven of the game’s first 20 minutes. The sophomore dropped 13 in the second half to guide the Cats to victory.

With the win, Kentucky finished the regular season with an SEC road record of 8-2.

The stat of the night belonged to John Calipari, who won his 300th game as the head coach of the Wildcats. He got to 300 faster than all but three coaches in NCAA basketball history:

After the win, Calipari met with the media to discuss the road win. Here’s what a look at what he had to say via UK Athletics:
