PJ Washington is not out of the woods yet.
After Washington and head coach John Calipari teased the return of the All-American performer, many assumed that meant he was good to go Friday when the Kentucky Wildcats clash with the Houston Cougars.
Not so fast, according to Cal.
In an interview with The Jim Rome Show, Calipari gave an update on Washington, who did not practice today and is still in a walking boot:

As the Wildcats departed for Kansas City, WKYT caught video of Washington still wearing a walking boot while leaving UK.

I doubt Washington plays Friday if he does not get some sort of practice in before then. Maybe it won’t happen until Friday’s early shootaround, but it would be ideal for him to practice some Thursday in Kansas City.
Still, after the way Calipari and Washington teased his return, it’s hard to see him not playing vs. Houston.
