The start of March Madness is officially here, as the 2019 NCAA Tournament field is set.
Selection Sunday saw the field of 68 teams revealed as the brackets are now set. It’s been a wild getting here, especially for the 1 seeds, as this was a very tight race that came down to the conference tournaments.
The Duke Blue Devils, Virginia Cavaliers, North Carolina Tar Heels, Kentucky Wildcats, Tennessee Volunteers, Gonzaga Bulldogs and Michigan State Spartans all had cases for a 1 seed in what was one of the most competitive 1 seed races in recent memory.
In the end, it was Duke, Virginia, North Carolina and Gonzaga who earned the coveted top seeds for their respective regions.
Kentucky will be a 2 seed in the Midwest Region.
