The recruitment of Keion Brooks will end Friday night.
The five-star forward is actually scheduled to make his announcement during Kentucky’s first SEC Tournament game. However, the decision will come at 8 pm EST, which is when the Wildcats should be at halftime of their game, giving fans a brief chance to turn their focus to Brooks.
Will they be happy with what Brooks decides to do?
With Decision Day almost here, Kentucky still looks like the team in the best shape for Brooks, who is 247 Sports’ 13th-ranked player. However, John Calipari isn’t about to let up.
The UK coach visited Brooks on Tuesday, according to Rivals recruiting analyst David Sisk.
That same day, 247 Sports national recruiting manager Kevin Ryan logged a prediction in favor of the Wildcats, who are now getting 57% of Brooks’ predictions. Ryan has actually made just four predictions for 2019 class but has been correct on all four.
Is this simply a coincidence that he made this pick on the same day Cal visited?
Perhaps, but I’m still taking Kentucky’s position in this recruitment over everyone else, mainly the Indiana Hoosiers. It’s almost a lock to be between the two blue-blood rivals, and it’s’ proven to be a major challenge to pull Brooks out of the Hoosier state.
Calipari appears close to accomplishing that.
