The last time they met, the Bulldogs were in the top 25 and the Cats clobbered them by 21 points. Since then, MSU has gone 2-2 and fallen out of the top 25.
The Bulldogs have the potential to be dangerous from three point range and we’ve seen Kentucky teams struggle in Starkville in the past. The Cats are trying to extend their winning streak to ten games and are getting ready to face back-to-back top 25 teams with the LSU Tigers and the Tennessee Volunteers both coming to Rupp Arena next week.
The Cats opened up as four point favorites but that spread has now extended to five.

Six Degrees of Separation: Will Wade coached Samir Doughty when VCU reached the 2017 NCAA Tournament. Today the two square off as Auburn visits LSU in Baton Rouge.— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) February 9, 2019
I don’t think Jon knows how six degrees of separation works.

Yeah that looks pretty amazing.
Five-star Anthony Edwards set to announce Monday— Adam Zagoria (@AdamZagoria) February 9, 2019
The race is really down to Kentucky and the Georgia Bulldogs since Edwards cancelled his visit to Florida State. UGA look to be the favorite (for whatever reason) but do not sleep on the Cats.
Cats from worst to best | Lexington Herald Leader- “It wasn’t long ago that John Calipari declared that Kentucky’s defense was the worst any of his teams had played. That’s no longer the case. According to statistics savant Ken Pomeroy, Kentucky is playing better defense than any team in a Power Five conference since league play began.” That’s the recipe for a nine game winning streak.
Cats look to ride defense to 10 game winning streak | WDRB- The Cats should have the post well taken care of. It all depends on if they can shut down the Bulldogs from long range today.
UK gymnastics score huge upset | UK Athletics- The Cats took down #5 LSU last night in Memorial Coliseum.
Are Cats flying under the radar? | Cats Pause-. Mark Titus is wrong a lot, especially about Kentucky, but I think he’s right on the money when he said that UK was left for dead after the disastrous loss to Duke at the beginning of the season. Kentucky is a completely different team and not many people are talking about it.
Chiefs set to hire Matt House | Arrowhead Addict- During his press conference on Wednesday, Mark Stoops told the media that an NFL team had inquired about one of his assistants. Now we know whom that was. Kentucky’s defense is going to be a huge question mark going into the season because of the loss on the field and now on the sidelines. Stoops has some rabbits to pull out of his hat.
CBS picks for Saturday | CBS- The majority of the writers over at CBS are taking the Cats over the Bulldogs. I don’t think Gary Parrish has picked the Cats to win one game this season and he’s not breaking his losing streak today.
AD greeted with Boos in New Orleans | ESPN- The Pelicans failed to move Anthony Davis after he demanded a trade. Now that the deadline is passed, Davis is stuck in an awkward situation. He still dropped 32 points and nine rebounds. And he didn’t even play in the fourth quarter.
Don’t forget to tune into the UK Postgame Show on ESPN 680 after the game today.
