Thursday Quickies: NBA Trade Deadline Edition

For many basketball fans, today is one of the most exciting days in the NBA regular season: Trade Deadline.

Contenders are looking to make moves to strengthen their rosters for the back half of the season, while others are trying to unload heavy contracts or find appealing deals to build for the future.

Much of the talk this trade season has centered on Anthony Davis and his request to be traded from the New Orleans Pelicans. The Lakers and the Knicks seem to be interested in making a deal for the former Kentucky big man, but nothing has materialized yet and it appears that the Pelicans will wait until the offseason to try to deal Davis.

As for other former Wildcats, Brandon Knight was part of a three-team deal that sent him to Cleveland and Malik Monk has been mentioned as possibly being involved in a deal between Memphis and Charlotte that would send Marc Gasol to the Hornets, although nothing has came of that yet either.

We’ll keep you posted on any deals involving former Wildcats.
