Well that was fun. The Kentucky Wildcats pounded the visiting South Carolina Gamecocks and were able to beat them at their own game: toughness, defense, and rebounding.
The Cats outrebounded the Gamecocks 51-29 and completely smothered them on defense. The bench had a great night as EJ Montgomery, Jemarl Baker, and Immanuel Quickley all played big minutes and contributed in major ways.
Here is what I discussed:
- The rebounding clinic the Cats put on was a sight to behold
- This team is locked in on defense
- Reid Travis held Chris Silva to just four points and four rebounds
- PJ Washington continues to dominate and has turned the corner
- EJ Montgomery looked comfortable for the first time all season
- Has this team peaked?
- What did John Calipari have to say during his press conference?
- The Cats have some big games ahead of them
- Player sound from Baker, Montgomery, and Washington
- Your calls and more!
I’ll be back with you on Saturday after the Cats take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs in Starkville.
