UPDATE: 2:07 PM
And Jammie Robinson has committed to the Gamecocks.
UPDATE: 2 pm
Kentucky has announced they have 22 letters of intent signed in the Class of 2019. That means they know four-star defensive back Jammie Robinson will pick South Carolina shortly...
UPDATE: 1:50 pm
Devonta Lee has also picked LSU over Kentucky. It looks like Kentucky will only add one commitment on National Signing Day.
UPDATE 1:30 PM
Jay Ward has committed to LSU. That one is gonna really sting for Mark Stoops and his staff.
UPDATE 11:50 am
In an appearance on KSR, head coach Mark Stoops said he hopes to add 1-2 more players but doesn’t know if they’ll come. There’s now a real chance Kentucky doesn’t add to its 2019 class today.
UPDATE: 11:05 am
Four-star cornerback Christian Williams has flipped from Alabama to Miami. Why is that significant for Kentucky? LSU thought they were going to get Williams, but now that he’s going elsewhere, the Tigers are making a last-minute push for Jay Ward, who decides later today.
UPDATE: 10:45 am
Three-star offensive lineman Renato Brown has signed with Louisville. Kentucky made a push for him following the early signing period, but Brown ultimately chose Louisville for a chance to keep for playing time much sooner than he likely would have gotten in Lexington.
UPDATE: 9: 15 am
MJ Devonshire has committed to Kentucky. He was the 3A Player of the Year in the state of Pennsylvania, which has annually produce a wealth of high-level recruits.
UPDATE: 8:20 am
Coming into Signing Day, there are four recruits who Kentucky has a legitimate shot with:
- 4-star DB MJ Devonshire, who announces at 9 am ET
- 4-star DB Jay Ward, who announces at 1:05 pm ET
- 4-star WR Devonta Lee, who announces at 1:45 pm ET
- 4-star DB Jammie Robinson, who announces at 2 pm ET
National Signing Day is today, and the Kentucky Wildcats are expecting to put the finishing touches on their 2019 signing class.
The Wildcats wrapped up the vast majority of their class in December in the early signing period with 21 signees, but a few spots were left open, which the Wildcats hope to fill today with a couple talented defensive backs and potentially a top 100 wide receiver.
Kentucky comes into NSD with the 38th ranked class (according to 247) in the country, ahead of only Vanderbilt in the SEC. However, with players like Jay Ward and MJ Devonshire potentially committing along with still being in the running for DeVonta Lee, the Cats have some room to move up in the rankings.
