John Calipari has rarely been one to issue offers to recruits who are two classes away from making it to college.
Now, he’s issued an offer for Class of 2021 recruit Jon Kuminga, according to Evan Daniels. That really speaks to how much Calipari loves the potential of Kuminga.
A 6-8 forward from Centereach (NY), Kuminga is ranked as No. 3 in the 2021 class according to the 247 Sports and Rivals rankings. ESPN ranks him No. 4 overall.
Among the many schools who’ve offered Kuminga include the Auburn Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Baylor Bears, Georgia Bulldogs, Maryland Terrapins and West Virginia Mountaineers.
Perhaps Kuminga is a recruit that could wind up moving up a class, which would explain why Calipari is already on him, though that’s pure speculation for now.
