The No. 4 Kentucky Wildcats swept the season series from the Auburn Tigers after a dominating 80-53 win this afternoon.
With Reid Travis out, the Cats did not skip a beat, as it was raining threes for Kentucky inside Rupp Arena as the Wildcats went 11-24 from three.
It was another impressive performance for PJ Washington, who had 24 points. It was also a big game for Tyler Herro who had 17. Finally, it was a carer day for Keldon Johnson on the glass, as he grabbed a carer high 17 rebounds to really help overcome Travis’ absence.
Kentucky’s defense also came to play, as they held an Auburn team who shot up 27 three pointers and only made eight of them, several of which coming in garbage time.
With the win, the Wildcats have moved into a three team first place tie atop the SEC with the LSU Tigers and Tennessee Volunteers.
Here’s the best social media reactions from today’s big win.
Reid’s doing alright at the moment https://t.co/H2wh073NTD

PJ Washington: still a sniper. Three-pointer in the corner to start the scoring for Kentucky. Dude's gonna creep up on 50 percent from beyond the arc if he doesn't watch out. Crazy.

I repeat, imagine giving SEC Player of the Year to anyone not named PJ Washington. pic.twitter.com/v4vrDM93sv

Who's his barber?
The improvement he made from the 1st 11 or so games is been more ridiculous https://t.co/cBzppG9Y7L

Kentucky just beat Auburn by 27 points.

Last week, Kentucky beat Tennessee by 17 points.
Kentucky is 3-0 against Auburn & Tennessee this year, winning by an average of over 15 points per game.
That is all. https://t.co/ay3zpcuCmo
What I liked most about Kentucky's performance today is that it would have been easy to sulk without Reid Travis. Instead, they did the opposite - EVERYONE stepped up their games. We know about the talent, but it's the mental toughness that impresses me so much with this team

Us: "Will it be EJ Montgomery or Nick Richards who steps up for Kentucky with Reid Travis out?"
— Kyle Tucker (@KyleTucker_ATH) February 23, 2019
PJ Washington: "Swish. Swish. Swish. Swish. Swish."
Today's forecast in @Rupp_Arena: It's 3s

After latest UK trey, another for Hagans, Bruce Pearl throws his arms up with a look that suggests, “What can you do if they’re doing that?”
— Jeff Drummond (@JDrumUK) February 23, 2019
From my sister behind UK's bench: Cal tells Montgomery “good job, you haven’t made two free throws in a row since you’ve been here” then said “why you laughing you know it’s true”

Auburn is 1-for-10 this half. Tigers just kind of going through motions and taking the butt-kicking with very few whimpers.

Against Auburn, Keldon Johnson had the highest number of rebounds by a guard in SEC play (17) since Sindarius Thornwell had 21 against Alabama in the 2016-17 season.

Auburn is the latest victim to be held to a season-low point total. Georgia, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Vanderbilt the others (and Kansas was second-fewest points).

UK scored 1.27 points/possession today, Auburn 0.85. That was Auburn's lowest PPP game of the season.
