The Kentucky Wildcats get a clutch come-from-behind victory against the Florida Gators, erasing an 11 point second-half deficit, 65-54. Kentucky pushes their win streak to eight games and snaps a two game skid to Florida in the process.
Mid way through the second half, Kentucky looked absolutely out of it, showing no offensive awareness. And then like magic, Kentucky was back in front 50-48 thanks to a Keldon Johnson three and the Wildcats never looked back. Kentucky outscored Florida 34-12 to close out the game.
PJ Washington yet again had himself a night, putting up 15 points and 12 rebounds while Tyler Herro on the road continues to be the biggest cheat code on college hoops. Herro had 19 points and 6 rebounds on 3 of 4 shooting from behind the arc.
The comeback win from this team shows just how much they have matured since the beginning of the season and they’re only growing.
This is also the second time Kentucky has won in Gainesville in the fall season after the football Cats also used a second-half rally to beat Florida. As you can imagine, this is a sweep that hasn’t been accomplished in decades.
Now, on to South Carolina.
Here’s what social media had to say about the Wildcats’ win:

This is the second time in school history that Kentucky has defeated Florida in Gainesville in both men's basketball and football by at least 11 points each in the same academic year (1979-1980)

Kentucky has held three of its last four opponents to 55 points or less.

Cats outscored the Gators 34-12 over the final 12:32 today. That'll play.
Not many teams are equipped to play nearly 30 terrible minutes on the road and come back to win by double digits.
This team is FUN!!!! #ToughDownTheStretch

Btw, since that opening night loss to Duke, Kentucky is now 17-2, with the two losses coming by a combined three points - THREE - and one in overtime. For as much as we talk about UK, I still don't think most of America has ANY idea just how good these Wildcats are right now

Thank god for PJ Washington

Florida brings out their football team with Kentucky in attendance... You know, the one football team to allow a Kentucky win over the last 31 years...
