Good morning Big Blue Nation! The Kentucky Wildcats are going for their eighth straight win this afternoon as they head to the Swamp and a showdown with the Florida Gators.
Mike White has had a rough go of it this season. With the departure of Chris Chiozza and other upperclassmen, the Gators have struggled mightily this season. For now they are trending toward the NIT so this won’t be the normal matchup with Florida.
The Cats are the favorite and that’s something rare whenever they head to Gainesville. Can PJ Washington continue his dominance? Can Ashton Hagans continue to improve his offense? Will Tyler Herro break out of his shooting slump?
Tune in at 4:00 PM on ESPN and find out.

Quickies
Five things to know about Florida | Lexington Herald Leader- The main takeaway from me is the lack of offense from the Gators. With Kentucky’s defense continuing to improve, it could be a long afternoon for the home team.
Hamidou Diallo will be in the dunk contest | Cats Pause- Hamidou Diallo has been a bright spot for the Thunder this season and he will take his athleticism to the national stage as he will compete in the NBA Dunk Contest. Very happy for Hami!
Silvio De Sousa ruled ineligible by NCAA | ESPN- Things just keep getting worse in Lawrence. De Sousa’s guardian allegedly had contact with an agent, which the guardian denies, and the NCAA has ended De Sousa’s college career. Just ridiculous.
Cats balanced attack makes them unselfish | UK Athletic- The story of the current winning streak isn’t just about one player. It’s someone different every time out that is contributing to the team.
Michigan loses to Iowa | CBS- The Wolverines lose their one seed for the moment and trade spots with former two seed Michigan State (I don’t believe in them at all). A one seed scenario is still very much in play for the Cats.
Anthony Davis’ father shuts down Celtics | Sporting News- Davis Sr. doesn’t want his son in Boston and he made that quite clear. The NBA has stolen all of the Super Bowl’s thunder this week. It’s been quite amazing.
