So that just happened. The number one player in the 2019 class has elected to stay home and play for the Georgia Bulldogs and Tom Crean.

It was almost a foregone conclusion that Edwards would pick Georgia after cancelling his visit with Florida State. Kentucky was still in the mix but in the end the Dawgs won out.

Tweets of the Day

For no other reason than this is awesome.

The Kentucky Wildcats will have their hands full with the LSU Tigers tomorrow night. They flat out get after it.

What’s going on with Matt House? | Saturday’s Down South- The initial reports were that UK defensive coordinator was going to head to the Kansas City Chiefs to take the same position. Then it was reported that House would remain in Lexington. Now the story is that Kentucky may have backed out of letting House out of his contract. If that’s the case then I’m not sure I’m a fan of what’s happening. While I would love to keep House, I would like to keep him because he wants to be here, not because he’s being forced to.

Cats get commitment from 2020 O-lineman | Cats Pause- Gerald Mincey comes from Florida and is a three star offensive tackle. At 6-6, 317 he physically fits the bill. At least UK got one commitment today.

Tyler Herro: Road Warrior | Cats Pause- The Cats have been really good on the road this season and nobody on the team has been consistently good as Tyler Herro. The UK shooting guard has stated before how much he loves playing on the road.

CBS 25 and one | CBS- Gary Parrish still has the Cats behind Michigan. People that actually watch basketball have them in the top four for the most part. Parrish has continually undersold UK this season and he’s been wrong every time. He’s stuck in November. But he’ll tell ya how Penny Hardaway is killing it at Memphis.

ESPN Power Rankings | ESPN- The Cats again are behind Michigan here. It’s funny how these sportswriters continue to tout the stellar resume the Cats have, which is second to almost none, yet continue to place them in the same spot every week.

John Calipari talks about age and relating to players | Vaught’s Views- John Calipari turned 60 years old yesterday but he hasn’t lost his touch when it comes to relating to his much younger players. Why? He always keeps it real with them.

Case in point.

Kyle Wiltjer hits game winner | Cats Pause- Kyle Wiltjer hit a baseline jumper to win the game for his Spanish team. I’m glad he’s playing professionally somewhere.

UK Hoops rounds out road swing | UK Athletics- The #19 Wildcats will play at Alabama tonight at 7:00 PM.

Gonzaga’s one seed most secure of any team’s? | Sporting News- If this is so then it’s a complete joke. The Zags have a cakewalk for the rest of the season while Kentucky, Duke, Tennessee, Virginia, UNC... will be battling it out. The teams you play should matter.

IU loses fourth straight home game | WDRB- Romeo Langford decided to stay home and play for the Hoosiers. Things aren’t going so well, are they? (Ahem, Anthony Edwards)

Cats big winners over the weekend | USA Today-

The Wildcats (20-3, 9-1) kept their nine-game winning streak going by holding off Mississippi State, 71-67, on the road. Every victory is meaningful as UK tries to chase Tennessee in the SEC standings, but also in terms of its NCAA tournament seeding; Kentucky was the top overall No. 2 seed in the bracket reveal and is one of the teams poised to leapfrog Gonzaga or Virginia at the No. 1 line if those teams stumble enough.

I think it’s more likely the Cats jump UVA because they will eventually lose more games in the ACC.

Magic says the Pelicans didn’t act on good faith with AD | ESPN- Magic Johnson wasn’t a fan of how the Pelicans acted during the entire Anthony Davis trade fiasco. Magic says that the brass in NOLA didn’t have Davis’ interests at heart and they did him dirty. I partially agree, especially since they were going to not play him until the NBA stepped in.
