UPDATE
Anthony Edwards has committed to Georgia.
Anthony Edwards, the No. 1 shooting guard prospect in America, will make his collegiate choice today. It will come between the Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, and Kentucky Wildcats.
Edwards is a 6-5, 215-pound combo guard from Atlanta, Georgia. He’s drawn comparisons in his game to NBA superstar James Harden and is always projected as a top-five pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
In addition, Edwards is rated No. 1 overall in the 2019 class by 247 Sports. He’s widely expected to pick Georgia today, and it would come as a pretty big surprise if Kentucky gets him.
However, landing the five-star talent would most certainly bolster an already-great UK recruiting class including Tyrese Maxey, Kahlil Whitney, and Dontaie Allen. According to Rivals, the class is ranked ninth in the country as of now. Landing Edwards would place the Cats in position for the top spot.
When Edwards makes his decision, a hat for Florida State will be on the table, but it’s highly unlikely they’re the pick after he canceled a visit with the Noles this weekend. It’s basically Kentucky vs. Georgia with the Dawgs heavily favored to win it.
When Edwards gets set to make his decision this morning at 9 am EST, check back here for a live stream of the announcement via SUVtv. You can also watch it live at CBS Sports HQ.
