John Calipari made a trip to the Marshall County hoopfest to watch 2021 five-star big man Moussa Cisse last week, and Cisse was left with a “good feeling,” according to Larry Vaught.
Despite Cisse’s team losing 65-44, Cisse was pleased to have the Kentucky Wildcats head coach in attendance:
“Coach Calipari is one of the big coaches. I was very happy to see him here,” Moussa said. “It doesn’t bother me when a big coach like that comes. It’s good to have him watch me but I am not going to try and do too much just because the coach is here. But I really like it, though, that he was here.”
Cisse struggled in his game against Callaway, putting up 14 points on 5-14 shooting, with nine rebounds and five blocks.
“I know I can do better than that. It was kind of like a little bit of pressure and stuff and we just played okay,” Cisse said.
Even so, Cisse is someone Kentucky has made a bigger priority recently. He currently has offers from Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia, and UCONN.
However, Cisse recently moved to Memphis to finish his high school basketball career, and the Tigers are viewed as a strong contender, if not the outright favorit.
But if John Calipari is still in pursuit, Kentucky will have a shot.
