The Kentucky Wildcats are bowl eligible for the fourth-straight year under Mark Stoops.
The 7-5 Wildcats, who were coming off a 10-win season last year, are once again back in the postseason, and they should make a pretty good bowl game.
While they could’ve easily had a far better record and a much better bowl projection had they knocked off Florida, Kentucky will nonetheless be playing past the regular season, which, for Wildcat fans, should be a win.
That said, it’s not easy to predict where teams will land, but there are a few obvious selections for Kentucky.
Here’s a rundown of where five experts from various sites placed Kentucky.
ESPN - Mark Schlabach
TaxSlayer Gator Bowl: Wisconsin
ESPN - Kyle Bonagura
Belk Bowl: Pittsburgh
247 Sports - Brad Crawford
TaxSlayer Gator Bowl: Indiana
KSR - Matt Jones
TaxSlayer Gator Bowl: Indiana or Iowa
CBS Sports - Jerry Palm
TaxSlayer Gator Bowl: Indiana
Overall, the best opponent would be the first prediction, Wisconsin vs. Kentucky. The game would be electric. It’d be trying for the Wildcats defense to slow down Jonathan Taylor, while Lynn Bowden Jr. would be facing one of college’s best run defenses.
Kentucky fans should want a bowl game where a win would end this season on the highest note possible, and beating Wisconsin would do that.
However, taking on an old rival in Indiana would also be a fun matchup. And Iowa is Mark Stoops’ alma mater.
