What will Kentucky’s record be in December?

This month will include some difficult matchups on the back end.

The Kentucky Wildcats are off to a 6-1 start in the 2019-20 season and are now ready for the month a December that includes some tough matchups.

So, let's take a look at the Cats’ schedule for the month and who they will have to face.

Their first game will be today against the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights. This will be their easiest opponent this month as the Knights are sitting at 2-5 on the year.

The Knights have had some close losses, but they haven’t been able to score at a high rate either. They won their season opener against FDU-Florham, then lost five straight before beating Quinnipiac by one.

According to ESPN, Kentucky has a 95% chance of getting the win.

On December 14th, the Cats will take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Rupp Arena. Georgia Tech is currently sitting at 4-2 on the season with wins over NC State and Nebraska.

They have faced two other SEC opponents in Georgia (82-78) and Arkansas (62-61) losing both of those contests.

Tech has a player that Kentucky fans will remember in Bubba Parham, who came into Rupp last season and had a huge game for VMI, dropping 35 points.

ESPN gives the Cats an 82.9% chance of getting the win.

The schedule really starts to get tougher on December 18th when the Cats takes on the Utah Utes in Las Vegas.

Utah is 6-2 on the season with wins over Nevada, Mississippi Valley State, Minnesota, Ohio, UC Davis and BYU. Their two losses came to Coastal Carolina and Tulane.

Timmy Allen is the leading scorer for the Utes averaging 19.4 points on the year while shooting 55% from the field.

ESPN gives the Cats an 81.6% chance at getting the win.

Kentucky will remain in Las Vegas for their December 21st matchup with the Ohio State Buckeyes in the CBS Sports Classic.

The Buckeyes are currently 8-0 on the season with a 76-51 win over Villanova who was ranked #10 when the two teams met, plus a 71-49 on the road over No. 7 North Carolina this week.

Ohio State has been one of the more shocking teams this season with the way they have played. They are led by Kaleb Wesson who is currently averaging 12.4 points a game on 43.8% shooting.

ESPN currently has Ohio State as the favorite, giving them a 56.3% chance of winning.

Kentucky’s final game this month will be the battle with the Louisville Cardinals in Rupp Arena on December 28th.

The Cards are currently ranked #1 in the country and are 9-0 on the season. Their best win is a 58-43 win at home over No. 4 Michigan. They also have an 87-74 win at Miami and a 71-54 win over Western Kentucky on a neutral court.

Louisville is led by junior forward Jordan Nwora who is averaging 21.9 points a game on 48.4% shooting. Slowing him down will be the key for the Cats to get a victory over the rival Cards.

ESPN currently gives the Cats a 55.9% chance of getting the victory.

December is usually the month that we see Cal’s teams make the most improvements with all the extra practice time due to a lack of games, and I wouldn’t expect anything different from this years’ team.

So, what record do you think Kentucky will have in December?
