2019 has been a very emotional year for Kentucky Football.
The biggest part of that was the tragic passing of Jared Lorenzen over the summer. A four-year starter for the Wildcats from 2000-03, Lorenzen was one of the most prolific quarterbacks in college football history, as well as a UK legend who still holds several school records, and he still had a major presence in the media right up until his passing.
The school went on to honor his memory with Jared Lorenzen Day against Arkansas, a game UK won 24-20 in a beautiful tribute to the Bluegrass legend.
Then following today’s 37-30 win over the Virginia Tech Hokies in the Belk Bowl, UK quarterback Terry Wilson dedicated the win to No. 22:

In addition, during the halftime performance, the UK band honored Lorenzen with a 22 formation, which they also used during the win over the Razorbacks in October:
