Who wins the Belk Bowl?

Will the Cats win a bowl game for a second straight season?

Jason Marcum - Sea of Blue

For the fourth straight year, the Kentucky Wildcats have a bowl game to play, as they’ll take on the Virginia Tech Hokies today in the 2019 Belk Bowl.

Kentucky comes to Charlotte red-hot as they won their final three regular-season games by at least 20 points. They also outscored their opponents 133-34 in those games.

The Cats finished the regular season 7-5 to secure their fourth straight winning season.

As for Virginia Tech, they shutout Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh in back to back weeks, but then lost to rival Virginia in their regular season finale, which kept them out of the ACC Championship Game and the Orange Bowl.

The Hokies finished the season regular 8-4 to clinch their nation-leading 27th straight bowl bid.

Today’s game will mark the 19th all-time meeting between the two schools with the Wildcats leading the series 11-6-2. The most recent matchup between the two programs came in 1987 when a Jerry Claiborne led Kentucky team took down Frank Beamer and the Hokies 14-7 in Lexington.

Can Kentucky keep up their winning ways against the Hokies, or will Virginia Tech come out on top?
