With six days until the Kentucky Wildcats take the floor, it appears John Calipari and assistant coach Tony Barbee are hitting the recruiting trail.
According to Andrew Slater of The Athletic, Calipari and Barbee will be in Lewes, Delaware Sunday at the Slam Dunk to the Beach showcase to watch 2021 five-star prospect Franck Kepnang.

Kepnang is a five-star center from Norristown, Pennsylvania. The 6-11 big-man is rated as the third-best center in the class of 2021, 18th best nationwide prospect and the best in Pennsylvania. It was reported earlier this week that Kentucky was starting to enter the mix.
The last five-star center to pick the Wildcats was Nick Richards back in 2017, and as a result, Kentucky’s frontcourt has had their ups and downs the last few seasons.
So far, Kepnang holds offers from Syracuse, Washington, UCLA and Vanderbilt, among others, so if Calipari and his staff make an offer, they’d quickly become the biggest name in the recruiting battle.
It’s still plenty early to predict what Kepnang will do, so for now, we can only speculate on how serious off a target Kepnang will be.
