The former Wildcat will be removed from the sidelines for the foreseeable future.

Just a little over a month after bringing the Evansville Purple Aces into Rupp Arena and upsetting the then No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats, Walter McCarty has been placed on administrative leave from his coaching duties.

The University of Evansville says they do not have plans to publicly discuss the matter, but they did confirm that multiple reports have been filed against McCarty. One of those reports is a possible Title IX violation, according to the Courier Press, and due to the serious nature, the school has decided to relieve the former Wildcat of his duties until the situation can be investigated thoroughly.

The details of the allegations have not been released by the school, which has brought in a national law firm to complete the investigation. If the claims are confirmed, McCarty could certainly lose his job and would then find a difficult time getting work elsewhere in college basketball.

Bennie Seltzer will take over as the head coach of the 9-4 Purple Aces while the investigation is underway.
