The end of the year is usually a fun time for Kentucky sports. The Kentucky Wildcats basketball team will take on the Louisville Cardinals on Saturday and the football team will take on the Virginia Tech Hokies on New Year’s Eve.
That leads me to wonder: what do you think is more important? A regular season basketball win over the Cards or a football bowl win over the Hokies?
A win over Louisville would secure bragging rights for the year as the Cats would have swept UL two years in a row. It would also help boost Kentucky’s resume, which is in dire need of a quality win. Moreover, it would really just make everyone forget the first month and a half of a frustrating and disappointing season.
On the other hand, a win in the Belk Bowl would give Kentucky an eight-win season, yet again. That not gives UK some positive momentum heading into the 2020 football season, but it also will help with recruiting for the class of 2021.
I know we wish we could all say both. And we might even get it. But this is a fun little exercise to see where the fan base stands as we enter the new year.
So, what will it be? What do you think is more important: a win over the Cards or a Belk Bowl victory over the Hokies?
