The Kentucky Wildcats really laid an egg against the Utah Utes late Wednesday night. They now have a golden opportunity against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
The Buckeyes are coming into Las Vegas as the #5 team in the country. The Wildcats (8-2) are still looking for a quality win since beating the Michigan State Spartans at the beginning of November.
John Calipari has been taking some heat from Big Blue Nation and he is responding, vowing to fix the shooting and to get his guys to play with more energy at the start of the game. I sincerely hope he is true to his word because if the Cats perform the way they did against Utah, they will get run off the floor this evening.
Tweets of the Day
Calipari said it's "hard to win a national title" jacking 35-40 threes a game, because just one cold game and the season is over. Average 3-point attempts for recent champs:

2019 – UVA (21.4)
2018 – Nova (28.9)
2017 – UNC (19.9)
2016 – NOVA (23.9)
2015 – Duke (18.8)
While I agree with Calipari to some extent, three point shooting has been redefined in todays game and it’s on him to adjust.

Need this one in a bad way heading into Louisville.
Quickies
John Schlarman adds more bricks to the Big Blue Wall | Cats Pause- The offensive line has been a focal point since Day One of the Stoops Era and they continue to make it an emphasis.
Storylines at the CBS Sports Classic | CBS- The ‘Cats poor shooting is a BIG storyline here and the folks over at CBS like the Buckeyes.
The highstakes collision of Penny Hardaway and James Wiseman | ESPN- One has to wonder how different things would have been for both Wiseman and the Cats if he would have ended up in Lexington.
SEC setting to leave CBS | Saturdays Down South- It looks like the SEC is moving to ABS/Disney for a more lucrative deal. How lucrative? Try $20 million per school per year.
Former UK players have a suggestion for the basketball team | Cats Pause- When Tyler Ulis says you need some dog in ya, you better listen.
Does Utah loss make the Cats an underdog in final two November games? | WDRB- Yes and yes.
Picking all 40 Bowl Games | Sporting News- Me likey...
The Hokies are favored, but it’s a tough spot after losing a rivalry game to Virginia. The Wildcats are 9-3 against the spread this season and closed with a convincing victory against Louisville. Any excuse to watch Lynn Bowden, right?
Kentucky wins 28-24 in an UPSET.
UK OUT of latest bracketology | CBS- While I am not sold on this team as far as a deep run is concerned, I still think they make the tournament. I think some in the media are really overreacting.
I’ll be back on the UK Postgame Show today on ESPN 680 after the Cats take on the Ohio State Buckeyes.
