Dontaie Allen now practicing, per John Calipari

Soon...

It sounds like Dontaie Allen could be making his UK debut in the near future.

During his Monday call-in show, head coach John Calipari revealed that Allen practiced with the team for the first time.

Last week, Calipari said Allen was doing some light work on the court, so it sounds like he’s progressed to the point he’s fully practicing with the team. Now, it’s just a matter of getting his conditioning up and building some chemistry with his teammates after being sidelined for the entire summer and fall while recovering from a broken collarbone and torn ACL.

It’s the first week of December, so it’s reasonable to think he’ll be able to play by the time No. 1 Louisville comes to town at the end of the month. However, Calipari won’t play Allen until he’s ready, so it’s untelling when we’ll actually log meaningful game minutes.

Regardless of when he actually does play, it’s great to hear Allen is finally practicing with the team after his long road to recovery.
