Nate Sestina available to play vs. Utah

It’s good to have you back, big guy.

Nate Sestina has been sidelined with a broken wrist for several weeks. And earlier this week, Kenny Payne made it sound as thought he is a week or two away from a return. But Sestina is currently suited up as if he is ready to go against Utah tonight.

According to Kyle Tucker, Sestina was fully participating in warm-ups with a heavily padded wrist and looks like he thinks he will play. With the Wildcats facing just their third Power 5 opponent of the season, the front court certainly can use all the depth it can get.

And now, John Calipari has revealed that Sestina is available to play tonight.

Before getting injured, Sestina was averaging just over seven points and seven rebounds per game. But his absence has really been felt in his vocal leadership on the court.

It is not clear how much, if any, action Sestina will see on the court tonight. Perhaps this game against Utah is a test to see if he may be ready to go Saturday against Ohio State. Regardless, it does look like he will be available for John Calipari in Las Vegas tonight.
