4-star OL Deondre Buford signs with Wildcats

The Wildcats add another Michigan native.

UK Athletics

The Kentucky Wildcats have officially added yet another player from the state of Michigan, as offensive tackle Deondre Buford has signed with the Cats.

Buford is a native of Detroit, Michigan, and attended Martin Luther King high school. He is rated as a four-star prospect by 247 Sports and as the 27th offensive tackle in the 2020 class. He is rated as the seventh-best prospect in Michigan with one player ahead of him being fellow Kentucky signee Justin Rogers.

The offensive tackle chose Kentucky over Auburn, Louisville, LSU, Penn State, Tennessee, among others. Buford will likely redshirt next season with Darian Kinnard and Landon Young set to return at the offensive tackle positions but could be in play to start in 2021 when Young graduates.

Regardless, a team can never have enough depth on the offensive line and picking up a prospect who choose Kentucky over several prominent programs is a huge addition.

Speaking of depth, Kentucky has arguably the best group of offensive linemen that any college program will sign, as Buford joins Justin Rogers, John Young Jeremy Flax, RJ Adams and Joshua Jones.

The future of this offensive line is very bright.
